Qabool Hai
From meaningful connections to trusted proposals, Qabool Hai is a matrimonial platform built to make the marriage process easier and more transparent. It provides families and individuals with a respectful digital space to connect. Designed with care, it blends cultural values with a modern user experience.
Year :
2021
Industry :
MATRIMONIAL
Client :
MatchDigitalSolution
Project Duration :
1.5 years

Problem :
The Qabool Hai platform faced multiple challenges that are common in the online matrimonial space, but with additional cultural sensitivities specific to the Pakistani market:
Limited User Base – Difficulty attracting and retaining new users.
Incomplete or Inaccurate Profiles – Leading to low-quality matches and user dissatisfaction.
Inappropriate Content – Offensive or irrelevant content harming trust and experience.
Safety & Security Concerns – Lack of proper verification, privacy measures, and moderation.
Ineffective Matching Algorithms – Resulting in unsuitable or irrelevant match suggestions.
The goal was to design a modern, secure, and culturally appropriate digital platform that solves these issues and builds trust among users seeking serious, halal matchmaking.

Solution :
UX Flow Development
I designed the UX flow to prioritize trust, safety, and meaningful matching, while keeping the experience lightweight and mobile-first:
Onboarding & Verification
Guided profile creation with cultural and religious context.
Mandatory verification steps (ID checks, selfie match) to ensure authenticity.
Clear privacy settings from the start.
Profile Completion Journey
Step-by-step guided forms with progress indicators to encourage accurate and complete profiles.
Smart prompts and tips to help users represent themselves better.
Matching Experience
Intelligent recommendation algorithm that considers preferences, values, and religious compatibility, not just basic filters.
Swipe and list-based browsing options for different user preferences.
“Serious Intent” tags and compatibility scores to build trust.
Safety & Moderation Layer
Built-in reporting, blocking, and flagging tools.
Automated and human moderation to remove inappropriate content quickly.
Privacy controls to hide sensitive information unless mutually matched.
Engagement & Retention
Email and in-app notifications to remind users to complete profiles and respond to matches.
Incentives like free premium for fully completed profiles.
Solution
I designed a minimal, warm, and culturally respectful interface that blends modern matchmaking app patterns with traditional values:
Clean UI with calming, trust-oriented colors and soft typography.
Culturally sensitive imagery and language, avoiding anything inappropriate or Western-centric.
Profile cards designed to emphasize meaningful information rather than superficial swipes.
Gamified progress bars and subtle nudges to improve profile completion rates.
Secure user flows, ensuring that privacy and verification steps feel safe, not intimidating.
Deliverables included:
High-fidelity app & website prototypes
Design system & UI kit
User onboarding flows
Moderation dashboards and reporting flows
Visual identity refinement for consistency across platforms

Challenge :
Cultural Sensitivity: Balancing modern UI patterns with traditional values required careful tone, imagery, and copy.
Profile Honesty vs. Ease: Encouraging users to give honest, complete information without overwhelming them.
Moderation at Scale: Designing moderation tools that could handle large volumes of user content without friction.
Trust Building: Overcoming user hesitation by visually communicating privacy and seriousness throughout the experience.
Summary :
Outcome
Profile completion rates increased significantly after the introduction of guided onboarding and incentives.
Inappropriate content reports dropped thanks to layered moderation and reporting tools.
User trust and retention improved, with users spending more time engaging and returning more frequently.
The matching algorithm produced more relevant results, leading to higher satisfaction and meaningful conversations.
Qabool Hai positioned itself as a trusted halal matchmaking alternative tailored for young Pakistani users.
Summary
Qabool Hai demonstrates how thoughtful UX/UI design, combined with cultural understanding and strong moderation systems, can transform a matchmaking platform into a trusted space for serious, halal relationships. By focusing on profile quality, security, and intelligent matching, the platform successfully addresses the unique challenges of the Pakistani matrimonial landscape.
